THE ROAD TO MEMPHIS

Hi There,

My name is Christina Crofts. On a cold, cold winter night in early July, my long-time friends and band buddies Tony Boyd and Stan Mobbs and I braved torrential rain and howling icy winds to venture forth to a dimly lit iconic jazz and blues bar in Marrickville to face off against some of Sydney’s best blues bands for a chance to compete in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis.

Despite the wild weather, a hefty parking fine and fierce competition from the other contestants, the gods of rain and thunder smiled upon us that night, and we were chosen to travel to Memphis in January to compete against some of the best blues acts from around the world!

As you can probably imagine, the cost involved in getting the three of us to Memphis is enormous, so we are reaching out to you, our friends, family and music fans to ask if you can help us to raise funds to help with this.

To make things interesting, we are offering a limited number of rewards for donations as follows:-

$800 = A band performance 2 x sets for Sydney-based venues dates by negotiation

$200 = Admission to a part of an intimate private live performance we will be

video recording - Date to be announced soon (10 available)

$100 = A music lesson with your choice of band member/instrument - 1 hour each

$ 60 = 3 CDs signed and posted within Australia or pick-up from a gig

$ 50 = Your choice of :

a) 10-minute fashion and dress sense advice from our resident

sharp dressed man, Stan Mobbs - (5 available)

b) 10-minutes of free jokes and stand-up comedy

with our resident comedian Tony Boyd - (5 available)

$ 30 = Your choice of 1 x CD signed and posted within Australia or pick-up from

a gig

there are also several cats up for discussion… lol
