My name is Alvaro Alexander Vasquez, and today I’m asking for your kindness, not for
luxury, but for the simple gift of being able to walk again.
A few months ago, my life changed forever after a tragic accident took my leg. In an
instant, the world I knew, working, caring for my family, moving freely, vanished. Now,
every step I once took for granted feels like a distant dream.
I live in Maryland with my mother and brother, two incredible people who’ve stood by me
through every moment of pain, uncertainty, and hope. But our financial situation has
made it nearly impossible to cover the medical expenses, rehabilitation, and most
importantly, the prosthetic leg that would give me back my independence.
