Hello! My name is Rizzabelle and I am here to tell you a story about someone close to my heart who is currently battling one of the deadliest types of cancer -- Pancreatic Cancer. Pancreatic Cancer is relatively rare and highly lethal because it grows rapidly. Generally, the survival rate is low. Unfortunately, my father was diagnosed with this disease mid September this year -- Locally Advanced Unresectable Pancreatic Cancer, Stage III. On October 5th, he underwent biliary bypass and the surgeon informed us that papa's tumor is unresectable due to its size and it invaded major blood vessels. We were then told that papa's cancer was stage IV.
Right now, papa's only option is to have chemotherapy which will only slow down the progression of his tumor and decrease the pressure of the tumor. Chemotherapy costs p40,000 per session and papa needs 12 sessions. Unfortunately, all of this not only takes a physical and emotional toll to my family especially to mama but a financial one as well. My family has been financially drained already from papa's series of tests, hospitalizations, medications, surgery, and daily expenses so I am setting up this GoFundMe to reach out to your kind hearts for help. We try to juggle what limited funds we have and it's been very difficult to balance it all out.
We want more than anything for him not only to survive, but to live. Papa may be strict and tough in some ways but he has a soft and generous heart. He was there for people who needed help whether it be financially or emotionally. He was there for people who felt lost and needed home. And for me, he is my best friend. He is my hero. He is my rock. I can talk to him about anything and supports me in everything I do. As the youngest and the closest to my father, it's really hard for me to face reality. It hurts that he needs to go through aggressive chemotherapy and side effects are unimaginable but papa is determined to fight and we want to give him that chance. In this very difficult time in our life, we humbly ask for help and support as we beat the odds. We want to thank you in advance for your help.
