Request For Help - Laara's Recovery

In October or November of this year, my very good friend Laara Jansen will be getting hip replacement surgery (the actual date of the operation is still pending, but she is high up on their wait list).
She needs help.
It took 11 months before she was able to get an appointment to see a surgeon for a consultation (which took place in July), and it will be an additional 2-3 months before she’s admitted for surgery. In the meantime, x-rays have revealed that all the cartilage in her right hip is gone. It’s bone on bone.
The level of chronic pain and disability she’s been experiencing has made every aspect of her life (including her work) very challenging.
She’s been told to prepare herself for 3 months of recovery time, but just recently Laara reached out to myself and a few of her friends to share that she doesn’t have the financial means of supporting herself through her recovery. For the last year especially, she’s been drawing on her savings to help supplement the income that’s been slowly dwindling due to the fatigue caused by her chronic pain.
After her marriage ended 10 years ago (almost to this date), Laara has been in the process of redefining her entire life. For the last couple of years, she has been focused on building her ‘Healing Through Inner Peace’ somatic and spiritual-based practice, and preparing to write her first book about the divine feminine.
In her own words:
“I’m a woman with a big vision and big dreams, but I have a bit of an obstacle course ahead of me over the next 6 months.”
Connie (a friend and patient advocate) will be accompanying her through the medical process, which Laara has been preparing for as best she can.
For all of those who know and love Laara, this campaign is an opportunity to support her through this time of transition and healing (both leading up to and after the surgery). Anything you can give would help tremendously.
