Donation protected
This page has been set up, with permission, for The Valdez Family. Angelica Valdez has been diagnosed with Synovial Sarcoma Cancer. We are seeking assistance from family and friends to help Ray and Angelica continue the fight.

Angelica is one of a kind.  She is best described as a caring, giving, devoted wife, and mother. She has been married to Ray for 9 years. They have five children with the youngest whose 7 years old and a one-year-old granddaughter.  Her tenacious attitude towards life has made her into the strong independent woman she is today. Her “I Can” attitude has shaped her in which, she continues to excel in all aspects of her life, including becoming a Chef Instructor for the Culinary Institute of Technology.  She is an avid volunteer for the Army National Guard where her husband, SFC Valdez is currently serving in the military.  Angelica is beautiful inside and out. She has a captivating smile that can light up any room.

A year ago, at age 32, Angelica had felt some pain in her stomach.  She was assured by multiple doctors that everything was fine.  Even mentioning it may be an ovarian cyst.  It took three months of discomfort and pain to finally head back to the emergency room.  She was immediately taken into surgery where a large tumor was removed from her intestine but unfortunately had burst. She was diagnosed with a very rare cancer, Synovial Sarcoma of the intestine. Angelica began her chemo right away traveling to the City of Hope in Los Angeles, CA, receiving excellent care. She has completed eight rounds of treatment since March 2017.  It was in December, that her doctors informed her that her cancer was incurable.

With all of the treatments, Angelica has undergone, the trips to transport her to and from Los Angeles has caused a financial strain. Her family has made multiple trips to be with her during treatment. Unfortunately, insurance does not pay for these trips, which includes gas, food, lodging, child care and even wage loss. Angelica has been diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer and doctors are telling her that she will need to continue the chemo treatment indefinitely.

The fierce Angelica that we all know, is not willing to give up.  She has drastically changed her diet and lifestyle hoping that it will slow her cancer.  She and her husband Ray are seeking a second opinion and other options. Fortunately, she has found a new treatment, that she can begin soon.  This treatment is a holistic approach.  Angelica and her family believe this is the best approach for her and her quality of life.  This treatment is not covered by her insurance. If you could find it in your heart, please help the Valdez family help their Mother, their Wife, their Daughter, their Sister, their Grandma, Angelica Valdez fight the fight of her life. All donations will help with the new treatment along with any financial hardships. Keeping up with all treatments is imperative to continue with her quality of life. We ask that you please donate and help this family. God Bless
