SGT. Justin Kautzman fund

This is Justin Kautzman and he needs our help. Justin is a soldier in the Washington National Guard and a avid motorcycle rider. He is a volunteer wrestling coach at the local Jr. High school and a full time student in college. In 2014 Justin started experiencing severe back pain and arm numbness. At one point Justin couldn’t feel his legs and actually collapsed on the ground and could not get up. He was transported to the local hospital where multiple MRI's of his back were done and the result was completely normal. On a hunch the hospital neurologist decided to do a head CT and MRI and the results were devastating. Justin was diagnosed with having a Chiari 1 malformation and would need surgery. A Chiari 1 malformation is when a portion of his Cerebellum is tightly squeezed inside the skull due to a malformation of the skull during fetal development. It is impossible to detect initially as unless you are looking for it, you won’t find it.
Justin was advised that the only logical treatment for this was immediate brain/skull surgery to relieve the pressure on his brain. Justin had the surgery the next day made it through ok. However, since the surgery his symptoms have returned with a vengeance with no way to relieve any of the pain or temporary paralysis that he experiences. He has migraine headaches daily and dizzy spells and if he needs emergency care or medication refills he has to travel over 80 miles to Madigan Army Medical Center on Joint Base Lewis McCord. He has to walk with a cane and often times with a walker and has no way of going to work and supporting his family. At this time there is still no diagnosis as to why his symptoms are returning and becoming more severe.
. They are far behind on their bills and they are losing hope and have no way to make it out of the hole that is quickly getting deeper.
Any donations are greatly appreciated to help this outstanding Father, Husband and Soldier.
