Justina Martinez is a hard working single mom, trying to make a good life for herself and her 16 year old daughter, never asking for a handout, fiercely independentOn September 12, she and her daughter were driving in Hernando County, Florida stopped at a red light, when they were struck from behind by a careless driver, not paying attention, who only had minimal insurance coverage. The damage to her vehicle was over $9,300 so the insurance company deemed it a TOTAL LOSS. The car was a 2019 Mitsubishi Mirage, so of course she still owes more than $9,300. The gap insurance will cover that difference eventually, so Justina will have to continue to make payments on a vehicle she no longer has. She recently started a new job, and has to depend on others to get her and her daughter where they need to go. She was able to get a rental car, but has to pay for that out of pocket. She is currently looking for another car, but needs a down payment in order for the dealer to take her inquiries seriously.
Both Justina and her daughter continue to suffer physically and emotionally from this accident. They have whiplash, back and neck injuries. Justina has also developed vertigo.
