Justin Robinson: Post-Brain Surgery Recovery
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Cydni Potter, Director of First Impressions at the Bryson Smith Team, Keller Williams Premier Realty.
On August 7th of this year, our team member and good friend Justin Robinson suffered a grand mal seizure while visiting family in Wisconsin. This seizure was a first for Justin and resulted in an emergency hospital visit. While hospitalized, Justin was diagnosed with a Right Parietal Occipital AVM (Arteriovenous Malformation: an abnormal tangle of blood vessels connecting arteries and veins, which disrupts normal blood flow and oxygen circulation). He was referred to a neurosurgeon, Dr. Klopfenstein, here in Peoria, IL.
Justin's first appointment with Dr. Klopfenstein was on September 1st, during which the doctor took an angiogram for final imaging to determine a treatment plan. An angiogram is a scan that shows blood flow through arteries or veins, allowing the doctor to identify the precise location of the blood flow disruption. Dr. Klopfenstein determined that the best treatment for Justin would be an open resection surgery. This surgery will involve a craniotomy and an extensive healing period.
The open resection surgery is scheduled for Tuesday, September 13th. Post-op, Justin will be required to stay in the hospital for 3-7 days. He will then have a 4-6 week recovery period during which he will not be allowed to operate a vehicle, in addition to the six months he is unable to drive due to the seizure. This restriction has and will continue to affect Justin's ability to work. Our goal is to help offset Justin's medical costs and loss of income during this stressful period.
Justin is a hardworking realtor and a devoted father to his two-year-old twins, Scottie and Lucca. We appreciate any donations for this very deserving individual. Thank you for your time and consideration!
