Justin Lunsford's stroke recovery

On 2/20/18, Justin suffered a significant left side ischemic stroke affecting his speech, speed of cognition, and strength/coordination in his right arm and hand. The cause of the stroke is unknown and particularly baffling in a healthy and active 29 year old with no medical history. Needless to say, this is shocking to Justin and our family.

Justin is a Denver Health paramedic who has devoted both his professional and personal life in service to others. Anyone who knows him will attest to his strength of character. He will never turn down an opportunity to help others, finds the humor in any situation, and shows genuine kindness to everyone he encounters.

Justin has a lengthy recovery ahead of him and will be out of work for an extended period of time while he works on his recovery through PT, OT, and speech therapy. He and his amazingly supportive wife recently purchased their first home and are expecting a baby girl, who they have named Audrey, in a few short months.
