Help Justin Fight Stage III Cancer

Over Labor Day weekend, we had the shock of our lives. My brother, Justin Ferar, was suddenly diagnosed with Stage III colon cancer at the young age of 43. Justin and his wife Georgina have a beautiful five year-old daughter, Vivian, and just found out that they’re expecting a second child. The family is doing everything we can to stay strong and fight this challenge with everything we have.
Justin went into emergency care on Monday September 4th at Kaiser Hospital in Terra Linda after excruciating stomach pain and relentless vomiting. A CT scan revealed a tumor in the lower colon that was blocking his bowel. The pathology report shows Stage III colon cancer, which has already spread to his surrounding lymph nodes. Chemotherapy will begin as soon as possible after Justin recovers from surgery.
Justin and Georgina are self employed owners of Weddings on Film, a wedding videography business. They will have to work reduced hours until Justin is finished with chemotherapy, and Georgina will need to care for him and their growing family.
And while Justin and Georgina have health insurance coverage through Kaiser, they have a long road ahead of medical care, biweekly visits from the nurses, and debilitating chemotherapy treatments. The financial costs ahead are going to be daunting, and we are trying to raise funds to help them get through this tough moment.
