Justice for Shay

Wednesday, March 23rd, 2016 will forever be imprinted in the hearts of the family, friends, and those touched by the loss of Alshera “Shay” Chew.  The unforeseen death of our little sister due to a senseless act of violence has left many unanswered questions with the case currently being at a standstill. This violent act was a loss to us and those she would inevitably touch in the future. Our sister was a free spirit that brightened the lives of anyone that she came across. She lived for family and loved whole heartedly. Although Shay was only 23 years old and 2 months from the completion of her bachelor’s degree, she impacted many at such a young age.

Shay was treated unfairly in her death, not only by her killer, but the overall investigation – the home where she was slain suspiciously burned down within hours of the scene being initially processed, limited evidence was collected, etc... Fairfield, Alabama, a small town where my sister attended college and fell victim to this homicide, is a place where everyone knows each other. Most residents have lived in Fairfield their entire lives and are afraid of the possible ramifications behind coming forth with information.

In an effort to bring our beloved Shay’s killer to justice we are asking for your help.  By donating any amount, we hope to raise a reward for any information or evidence leading to the conviction of the person responsible for this heinous crime. All efforts have been exhausted, and this is our last hope - our sister deserves to be at peace.
