Join Renegade Opera in bringing immersive and modern adaptations of classic operas to Portland!
Renegade Opera’s inaugural production of Justice or Mercy invites audiences to participate in the thrilling tale of love, power, and choice. Our adaptation of Mozart’s La clemenza di Tito, with a cast of all femme/non-binary/trans artists, is unlike any you’ve seen before. The audience is invited to walk the halls before the show begins, witness the plot’s undoing, and participate in the story as they follow the characters through the offices of President Tito and her staff. When an attempt is made on the president’s life by her once close advisor, Sarah, she asks for your help. By exercising your right to vote, you can weigh in on her moral dilemma: is Sarah a conspirator or a misguided lover? Does she deserve justice or mercy? Cast your vote to seal her fate!
Justice or Mercy will be presented August 27th - 30th, and we need your help to raise 80% of our funds by May 2020!
