The Passing of a Veteran Mom

My name is Theresa Shores and I'm from Los Angeles, CA. I am raising funds for my mother Monica Shores. She is an Army veteran and was hit by a car. She has been declared brain dead due to severe brain damage. The funds willl go towards her cremation, hospital bills, legal fees and other bills that may appear over time. The VA isn't covering her hospital bills or her cremation since she didn't pass away at the VA hospital. So everything is coming out of pocket.
What happened: My mom is in the hospital. She was hit by a car on 10/18/17 in mid afternoon. She was crossing the street to a small market across the street from where we live. When she does this she usually leaves her phone, wallet and keys at home. I didn't know about the accident because I didn't get home from school until around 8:00pm. When I saw she wasn't home, I assumed she was with her boyfriend. But the next morning she still wasn't home and I found all her belongings in her room. So I started to panic and called 911 to file a missing persons report. A few hours later some people on my street told me that they saw a woman that looked like my mom get hit by a car. So I called a bunch of different hospitals to try and find her and nothing. Of course they wouldn't know her name since she didn't have any identification. She was a Jane Doe. So I called my local fire department and they told me which hospital they had driven her to. So I'm now at the hospital watching my mom struggle to survive. The doctors say there is a high possibility that she might be brain dead from all of the trauma and that they need to do a few more tests to verify their theory. Then they told me that the responsibility now falls on me to decide if I should pull the plug or not.
10/21/17 Update: At 3:41 p.m. My mother Monica Christine Shores passed away. The money raised will be put towards funeral costs and legal fees. Thank you for all your prayers, support and donations. My family and I really appriciate the help.
