Justice for Shaan & Stop Bullying and Violence

An 8th grader - middle school student Shaan was verbally and physically assaulted in Coppell Middle School by a bully. Shaan was placed in a chokehold multiple times impeding the breath that could have paralyzed or killed him in seconds. School authorities tried to cover up the actual facts. Instead of acting against the Bully, Shaan was suspended from school for three days whereas the bully got away with just one day. This is something that will stay on his school record and on his mind forever. If no action is taken by school authorities, Shaan has to face a bully who not only feels overpowered but who also feels that his actions will bear no consequences. Fortunately, parents got hold of the video footage of the entire event that’s going to be the biggest asset for them.

 

Shaan’s parents are trying to fight the big fight to bring reforms in the school system. Following is their agenda: -

- Justice in Shaan’s case

- Institution of an Anti- Bullying Campaign to teach students how to respond to Bullies

- Training of Staff and Teachers addressing bullying

- Schools should add additional staff to supervise students during morning arrival, all lunches, and afternoon dismissal.

 

Since Shaan's parents are trying to fight against a government entity, their legal fees are going to skyrocket.  We have retained - Marty Cirkiel as our legal representative and Marwa Elbially as a local counsel. 
 
Shaan's parents are in process of mobilizing a very strong team of attorneys !! Legal fees for the family is already skyrocketing. Almost $14k already spent in 3 days.

Since their fight is for a much BIGGER cause, the least we can do as a community is to provide them with financial support to fight the big fight. This will eventually benefit everyone!
