Dear friends, we are sharing the story of our dear friend Marcie out of frustration, anger, love, compassion, and so many other emotions and reasons.
When her son Michael was just one month old, she finally had the courage to leave her abusive husband. He had abused her physically, mentally, emotionally one too many times. The courage came from wanting to raise her son in a home free of violence.
Over the course of nearly 10 years she has spent over $75,000.00 in legal fees and related expenses fighting to avoid losing custody of her son, Michael. At one point, she even chose to represent herself in court when she could no longer afford an attorney.
She even earned her master’s degree while going through custody battles and on going court hearings, getting little to no sleep, and fighting for her rights as a mother.
Her ex-husband continues the abuse to this day by manipulating the family court system, filing law suits, creating a financial burden, and worst of all not allowing Michael to come home for the past 75 days. She is a beautiful, loving, caring, amazing mother who has been almost fully erased from her son’s life. Our hearts break for her and her baby.
