Krissia Ansara Henderson Burrus was born October 21, 1997 in Cleveland, Ohio. Although Krissia spent most of her formidable years growing up in South Euclid, Ohio, she recently transitioned to Richmond, Virginia in 2014. Krissia graduated from Thomas Dale HS in 2015 and began college at Virginia Union University in 2016, majoring in Criminal Justice. While in pursuance of her degree, she worked with the police academy through a University program. Krissia was passionate about criminal justice, and looked forward to serving the community to reduce violence and crime following her graduation.
It was on the night of Saturday August 25th that Krissia was innocently driving her car in Richmond, Virginia, when another vehicle approached her and her friend at a red light. The suspects began to randomly begin firing at her car, striking both Krissia and the Male passenger. Luckily, the Male passenger survived with several non-fatal gunshot wounds. Unfortunately, two of those shots were fatal that struck Krissia. These suspects have yet to be caught and identified.
Krissia will be most remembered for her infectious smile and laughter, her casual spirit, and her passion for fashion. Though reserved upon first glance, Kissia was full of life, happiness, and joy; which drew many people towards her.
Krissia fought for as long as she could, but departed us during the early morning of Sunday August 26th. Only at the age of 20, Krissia had so much more life to live. As we she leaves such a beautiful spirit behind to watch over us, let's please come together to seek justice for this wrong-doing. We do not want any other family to experience this level of pain, sorrow, and agony due to the loss of our loved one. In her memory, her Mother, Kristy Burrus, has started a foundation to aid in giving a scholarship to one blessed recipient each year at Virginia Union University, within the Criminal Justice Program. Please support as we push to live our lives through her spirit.
