Mother’s Plea and Cry for Help:
My name is Pamela Snell, and I am a mother living every parent’s worst nightmare. On June 3, 2023, my youngest daughter, Kenyatta Snell, just 25 years old, was senselessly and tragically murdered. Kenyatta was more than just my daughter—she was my heart, my baby girl, and a loving mother to her own little girl, Kassidy, who was only 2 years old at the time of this horrific loss.
Now, Kassidy is 4 years old, and every day she asks me, “Where’s my Mommy?” How do you answer that? How do you explain to a child so young that her mother, her provider, her entire world, was taken away in an act of violence? Kenyatta was Kassidy’s everything, and now, I’m doing everything I can to fill the void, but it feels like an impossible task.
Kenyatta had attended an event held in a field in Louisville, Alabama—a field where the event was hosted without proper licenses or permission. This illegal gathering became the scene of the unthinkable. To this day, no one has been held accountable for my daughter’s murder. Her killer remains free, and the pain of knowing that someone out there knows who did this but has chosen to remain silent is unbearable. I am crying out for justice for Kenyatta. Her life mattered. Someone knows the truth, and I won’t stop until that truth comes to light.
What hurts even more is the lack of compassion and urgency from those who should be helping us. For over a year, I’ve been fighting to bring attention to her case, yet it feels like no one in that town cares. It took me over a year just to secure two television interviews and one small article in my local newspaper in Troy, Alabama.
This fight has been excruciating, not just for me, but for my family. Kenyatta was the baby of my three daughters, and I raised them to love and support each other fiercely. The bond they shared was unbreakable, and now that bond has been cruelly ripped apart. Her sisters are devastated. Kassidy is devastated. I am devastated.
But I can’t give up. I won’t give up—not for myself, but for Kassidy. She deserves to grow up knowing that her mother’s life mattered, that her family fought for justice, and that her story wasn’t forgotten. But I can’t do this alone.
This tragedy has left me not only emotionally shattered but also struggling financially. The stress of this loss and the ongoing fight for justice has taken a toll on my mental and physical health. I need dependable transportation so I can take Kassidy to school, her doctor’s appointments, and the therapy sessions we both desperately need to heal. Kassidy’s life has already been marked by unimaginable loss. I can’t let my circumstances keep me from giving her the care and stability she deserves.
You’ve heard the saying, “Money talks.” Sadly, it’s true. Without financial resources, it feels like no one is willing to help us. Despite having a strong case, no one has stepped up to take it because I don’t have the money to keep pushing forward. This reality is heartbreaking, but I refuse to let it stop me from fighting for my granddaughter and the justice my daughter deserves.
Kenyatta’s life mattered. Her story matters. And Kassidy’s future depends on the support of compassionate people who are willing to stand with us in our time of need. I am asking, from the depths of my heart, for your help. Whether it’s a donation, a prayer, or simply sharing our story, any support will make a difference. Kassidy deserves a chance to heal, to grow, and to live a life that honors the memory of her mother.
This plea isn’t just about justice for Kenyatta—it’s about giving Kassidy the chance to thrive despite the unimaginable loss she’s endured. It’s about proving that love and compassion can triumph over senseless violence and indifference. I ask for help to make the difference.
I pray that God moves in your heart and spirit to help us in this tragedy. My family and I are clinging to faith, believing that we will find the support we need to carry us through this dark time. Kassidy has lost her mother, but she still has me, and I will keep fighting for her with every ounce of strength I have left.
From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for taking the time to read our story. Your kindness, generosity, and prayers mean more than words can express. Together, we can bring light to this darkness and ensure that Kenyatta’s life and legacy are never forgotten.
With love and gratitude for your help,
Pamela Snell
