Justice for Hero & The Bellingham Park Cats

Tax deductible

!!! TRIGGER WARNING: Some images and descriptions may be disturbing to some!!!

Justice for Hero is a project to rescue the stray cats currently being hunted and tortured in Mooresville, NC by a truly evil person. Hero was a loving, deaf, 8yo boy who had been left behind by his family and adopted by the local Mooresville cat colony. He was found in Bellingham Park in Mooresville tortured so badly that he had to be euthanized as an act of mercy. The once large cat colony, numbering almost two dozen, is now down to just roughly 6 even though people continue to abandon their cats. Numerous locals have also come forward with tales of similar instances to what happened with Hero involving their own pets going back 5 years.

The psychopath or psychopaths who are torturing and killing these poor, defenseless cats need to be caught. And the cats that are out fending for themselves need to be brought to safety and out of their wretched grasp. That's where Bella Vita Cat Rescue has stepped forward. We are currently offering a reward through Mooresville Police Department for any information that will lead to the arrest of those responsible for these atrocious acts. In addition to that, we are in the process of finding homes for the very few loving and friendly colony survivors and we need your help.

We are asking for donations that will go towards the medical care and board of not just these 6 remaining colony cats, but every abandoned cat and kitten that finds it's way to us until these lunatics are caught. These precious cats will receive a very thorough vet examination at a local Animal Hospital that we work closely with. Their vaccines will be updated, they will be spayed/neutered and be put on any required medical treatments. From there, they will be placed in foster homes where they will have time to adjust to a life no longer filled with hunger, cold temperatures and the terror of someone hunting them for sport - to one filled with love, comfort and safety. At that point, we will do everything we can to help them find their forever homes.

Any donations received beyond our $2,000 goal will go towards the construction of a feral cat intake center where our volunteers will be able to care for and interact with the cats we find before placing them in foster homes. An extremely kind donor has offered their land at an undisclosed location to be used for this purpose and we cannot thank them enough for their generous heart!

ABOUT BELLA VITA: We are passionate about saving the lives of pets! Our mission is to advance the No Kill movement by supporting local animal shelters and the community through fostering. Our goal is to help every pet that finds their way to us discover their forever home with their forever family. These precious stray, feral and community cats did not ask to live this life. They are only trying to survive, just like every other being on this planet. Please donate and help us help them. All of the Bellingham Cats are loved by Bella Vita Animal Rescue NC and are watched over by their sibling, Hero. ❤❤❤

HOW YOU CAN HELP:
- If you are local to Mooresville, keep your cats indoors!
- Spread the word about this person, don't let Hero's story fade because this person will soon get bored with cats and upgrade to a larger creature or person! This is textbook psychopathic behavior in serial killers!
- Donate! Whether it's money here on our Go Fund Me or if you can donate items, litter, food, even just your time. Anything is appreciated!

ART: The Justice for Hero artwork has been created and donated by local Mooresville, NC artist Katherine Perry "Thimsy Whimsy". You can find her online  on social media as @thimsywhimsy. A coalition of local NC artists are coming together and donating portraits of the Bellingham Park Cats that will be available as merchandise in our Etsy Shop in time for the holidays.
