Justice for Cory: Help Fight Legal Injustice

Hi, my name is Tyler, and I’m creating this fundraiser to support my partner, Cory, who is facing severe legal challenges. He committed NO CRIME and yet he potentially faces life in prison. We never imagined finding ourselves in this position, and we’re reaching out to our community for support in a time of great need.

Cory and I have been partners for nearly seven years, and we’ve built our lives around love, laughter, our friends and dreams for the future. We even hope to be married soon. Unfortunately, we’re now in a situation that requires urgent legal assistance. His life, my life, our well-being, and our future is at stake.

What We Are Raising Funds For:

Cory is involved in a complex legal case stemming from a sting operation at a Furry convention in Reno, NV. Cory and I live paycheck to paycheck, and given the severity of the charges and outrageous conduct of the officers involved, this case requires specialized legal representation, which we cannot afford. These sting operations are the result of federal grant money. They will likely continue to see near unlimited funding provided they create results, and that is exactly what they are doing. They are creating crimes at the expense of innocent, impressionable, troubled people. Please understand, Cory did NOT actually do anything. He performed no crime. His charges are based on skewed legal definitions. My partner was manipulated by law enforcement to say imcriminating things

We believe the LGBT and furry community were specifically targeted in this operation as it took place during our convention, and such injustices can NOT keep continuing. Lawyers have informed us there is an extreme liklihood of bias. Bias in the prosecution, bias with the judge and bias with the jury. We need your support to defend our rights and our community.

The legal fees are beyond me and Cory, and we’ve been quoted an initial retainer of $30,000. Additionally, the pre-trial process will cost up to $10,000, and we may need to hire a medical expert at the cost of $10,000, with trial expenses potentially reaching $5,000–$10,000 more. This adds up to a potential $60,000 or more, which is overwhelming for us to manage alone.
