<div>My name is Charles T. Kellam -- Founder and Creative Director of FRUITFUL ROOSTER Luxury Fashion House. Nearly two million people have witnessed the encounter I experienced with a store manager at Nordstrom Scottsdale Fashion Square—an encounter in which I maintain that I was racially profiled, stalked and accosted as a Black man.

<div>What began online has since grown into a national conversation, with my story receiving coverage from Atlanta Black Star and the New York Post. But for me, the most powerful part of this story isn't the attention.

<div>It's what we build from it.

<div>The support that followed was organic, immediate and powerful. It brought something into sharp focus: we need more of our own outlets to #BuyBlackLuxury and support our own infrastructure, instead of continuing to hand our dollars to institutions where we may not always feel that our value is recognized.

<div>As the Founder and Creative Director of FRUITFUL ROOSTER, it brings me a tremendous sense of honor to build the remedy with my mind and my own two hands -- and create opportunities for others that are sustainable and rewarding.

<div>It has been a lifelong dream of mine to open a brick-and-mortar home for FRUITFUL ROOSTER. This extraordinary chapter has shown me that the dream extends far beyond me.
