Justice for Bamanga
HELP GET JUSTICE FOR A MURDERED NIGERIAN TRANS WOMAN
In the early hours of Monday, October 29th, 2018 A Nigerian Gay journalist reported on 76crimes.com the murder of a Muslim Trans rights activist, who was found “buried in a shallow grave in “her dirt-floored home in Abuja, Nigeria”. Bamanga, popularly known amongst her close circle as “Rabina” was found in a shallow grave with protruding part of her body covered with a mattress. At the death of Rabina, a couple of Nigerian local media houses did cover her story on their blogs, but sadly before the end of 2019, most of them have deleted Bamanga’s story, leaving little digital traces of Bamanga’s murder on few LGBT blogs. We seeks to use this Documentary to properly document Rabina’s life, activism, murder, and burial as a shred of evidence to further the cause of getting justice for Bamanga. Bamanga doesn’t deserve to die, and this would help foster justice for here I’m Nigeria.
