JUST2REVEAL HEEFT JOUW HULP NODIG!
Verslaving is een ramp voor familie en vrienden van een verslaafde. Just2Reveal is een praktische wegwijzer die naasten informeert, ondersteunt en onderling verbindt. En hulpverleners prikkelt om nog betere zorg te gaan verlenen.
Just2Reveal (gewoon om te onthullen) is gestart door Nanneke van de Star als plek om haar eigen ervaringen en gevoelens rond haar verslaving op te schrijven en deze te delen met anderen. Na jarenlang met haar verslaving te hebben geworsteld is onze Nan afgelopen zomer op 29-jarige leeftijd overleden.
Rob van de Star - Nan's vader - is verder gegaan met Just2Reveal: nu als wegwijzer voor naasten van een verslaafde. Tijdens Nanneke’s behandeling heb ik vele verdrietige en soms onbegrijpelijke momenten mee gemaakt. Om niet te spreken over de miscommunicatie tussen instanties, onbegrip van verzorgers, tunnelvisie van hulpverleners en soms bizarre regelgeving vanuit de politiek. Familie & vrienden van een verslaafde staan aan de zijlijn, zijn vaak wanhopig en worden zwaar belast. Om anderen voor deze pijn te behoeden vraag ik u om een donatie te doen zodat we met Just2Reveal nog meer naasten van verslaafden kunnen bereiken en helpen.
Wat is Just2Reveal?
Op Just2Reveal vindt u een vraagbaak over verslaving, persoonlijke verhalen van lotgenoten, handige links die verder kunnen helpen, telefoonnummers als u iemand wilt spreken, een klaagmuur, een overzicht van zorginstellingen, noem maar op!
En wij halen alles uit de kast om meer naasten onderling te verbinden. Zo is de "Just2Reveal buddy-app" in afronding, die als doel heeft om naasten online met lotgenoten te koppelen. Hier kunnen zij ervaringen en vragen delen, steun zoeken of simpelweg praten met iemand die hen begrijpt.
Help Just2Reveal meer naasten te bereiken
Met uw donatie willen wij Just2Reveal naar een volgend niveau brengen. Dit willen we doen door o.a. de Just2Reveal website verder uit te breiden, community events te organiseren waarbij we lotgenoten samen kunnen brengen, workshops aan te bieden waarin we naasten hulp kunnen geven voor de problemen die zij ervaren in hun relatie met een verslaafde. En ook door de Just2Reveal buddy-app verder door te ontwikkelen.

De Stichting “A Friend In Every City” (AFIC) is een non-profit organisatie en wordt door vrijwilligers gerund, waaronder studenten van Hogeschool Windesheim.

JUST2REVEAL NEEDS YOUR HELP!
Addiction is an evil. As hard as it is to fight this evil firsthand, seeing someone you love deal with the struggles that come with addiction is no less harrowing. There are countless moments of pain in which we’ll readily give up anything to take the torment of our loved one away just so they could recover from their addiction. There are numerous instances where we are left dumbfounded and clueless about what our loved one is going through, the agony they are living day in and day out and the pure evil that they are trying to fight against and win, every living, breathing moment of their life.
Being a father of a beautiful daughter who lost her life because of addiction I can confidently say that loved ones of addicts are mostly on the sidelines, often desperate and heavily burdened. To help make it easier for them, we have started Just2Reveal , a signpost with information about addiction, personal stories, useful links that can help further, along with telephone numbers if you want to talk to someone and overview of healthcare institutions that help with drug addiction. We do everything we can to connect loved ones of an addict to others in the same situation. We are also creating “Just2Reveal buddy-app” to connect relatives with fellow sufferers online. They can share experiences, seek support or simply talk to someone who understands them.
We’re here to ask for your support in helping us make this initiative come alive so we can help the loved ones of addicts across the world deal with the pain, reach out, share their doubts and fears and support each other in a journey only they can truly understand. Your donation to this cause will help us take a huge step towards kindness, compassion and empathy towards people and families who desperately need it.
