Please help us to raise funds for life saving treatment for 18 month old British Blue Shorthair, Jupiter.

On 1 April 2022, Jupiter was sadly diagnosed with Feline infectious peritonitis (FIP) at the Royal Veterinary College (RVC). FIP is a notoriously horrible disease that is almost always fatal. However, there is hope for Jupiter and other cats with FIP, in the form of a new treatment called GS. This requires a minimum of 3 months daily of medication in order to treat FIP, and hopefully cure it.
This treatment has seen around an 80% success rate, and as of 1 April 2022, Jupiter has started his treatment at the RVC. We are praying that Jupiter responds well to treatment and can live many more care-free happy years at home.
Since this treatment is so new, it is extremely expensive, and the cost of the tablets alone is over £5,000. Jupiter has already incurred over £5,000 of hospital bills for investigatory tests, scans, and biopsies as FIP is notoriously hard to diagnose.
Sadly, Jupiter was already diagnosed with Feline herpesvirus (FHV) as a kitten at his breeders, and so diseases such as this are not covered by traditional pet insurance.
Therefore I am launching this GoFundMe for Jupiter, in the hope that we can raise enough to complete the course of GS treatment.
Anything you can donate is so appreciated, as is any shares to spread the word that there *is* a cure for FIP. We hope that by raising awareness for cats like Jupiter, this treatment will become more accessible and affordable in the future.
It is devastating to lose a pet; Jupiter isn’t just a pet - he is a very much loved part of our family.
