My son is one of only 7 people around the world with Mitochondrial TK2-related myopathy. This is a muscle neurodegenerative disease that has no cure. From the age of 3 he has slowly been loosing his strength. Now at the age of 14 he can no longer walk.
There is a new and promising treatment at the University of Columbia in New York, with Deoxypyrimidine Monophosphate, which would allow my son to regain strength and prevent the outcome, which is death.
Although we are beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel with a cost of $5760/Month ($69,120 a year) makes it very difficult to pay for this and be able to still pay all the bills.
It is our hope as parent to be able to have our son receive the treatment since 95% of mitochondrial diseases are untreatable.
Money is now the only factor holding back my child from the treatment.
I pray with heart in hand, for you all to help me with what you can to be able to start. Whether it is a dollar or 25 cents. It all helps.

Mi hijo es uno de 7 personas en el mundo con Miopatia Mitocondrial por TK2. Esta es una enfermedad neurodegenerativa muscular que ni tiene cura. Desde los 3 años de edad, el ha perdido su fuerza. Actualmente a los 14 años, ya no camina.
Existe un promisorio tratamiento en la Universidad de Columbia en New Yorkm con Deoxypyrimidine Monophosphate, el cual puede frenar el avance de la enfermedad, y asi evitar su muerte.
Aunque estabamos empezando a ver la luz al final del tunel, este tratamiento tiene un costo de $5,760 al mes ($69,120 al año) lo cual es muy dificil para pagar.
Es nuestra esperanza como padres poder darle a nuestro hijo el tratamiento, ya que el 95% de las enfermedades mitocondriales no tienen tratamiento.
El dinero es la unica razon por la cual mi hijo no esta recibiendo el tratamiento.
Les pido con el corazn en la mano, que me ayuden a conseguir el objetivo, no importa si pueden $1 o menos. Cualquier cantidad es una gran ayuda.
