<div>Soy <strong>Elías Reséndiz Rangel</strong>, llegué a éste mundo hace apenas 3 meses. A 20 días de mi nacimiento, mis papis Chabely y Ricardo, tuvieron que hospitalizarme por primera vez por Sepsis Neonatal. Después de 10 días de tratamiento con antibióticos en terapia intensiva, los médicos notaron mejoría en ése diagnóstico pero algo extraño pasaba con mis soldaditos de defensa (glóbulos blancos) pues parecía que no tenía un nivel adecuado. Fue así cómo comenzó el abordaje para saber el por qué sucedía esto, me realizaron un sin fin de estudios, entre ellos un aspirado de médula ósea y un panel genético para estudiar mutaciones o variaciones genéticas relacionadas a enfermedades o afecciones específicas.

<div>Finalmente el panel diagnosticó una <strong>inmunodeficiencia combinada grave por deficiencia de Adenosina Desaminasa (ADA)</strong>, la cuál es una enfermedad que afecta demasiado al <strong>sistema inmunitario</strong> y se caracteriza por tener niveles muy bajos de inmunoglobulinas y linfocitos, por tanto, a mi sistema le era imposible luchar contra infecciones oportunistas que podrían llegar a ser mortales.

<div>Mis papás se vieron en la necesidad de cambiarme de hospital, ya que en el que me encontraba, no contaban con los recuersos necesarios para mi siguiente tratamiento.
</div>
<div>En mi segunda hospitalización se desencadenaron algunos diagnósticos adicionales, que gracias a Dios, pudieron tratarlos de inmediato, tales como:
</div>

<li>Apneas centrales
</li>
<li>Miocardiopatía inespecifica
</li>
<li>Neumopatía crónica dependiente de oxígeno
</li>
<li>Neumonía por Aspergillus
</li>
<li>Desnutrición
</li>
<li>Disfunción diastólica ventricular.
</li>
</ul>
<div>Los médicos comentaban que cierto origen de éstos diagnósticos, lo relacionaban a la misma inmunodeficiencia. En seguida comencé con tratamiento profiláctico y terapia sustitutiva con gammaglobulina humana.

<div>La terapia curativa a mi diagnóstico es un <strong>transplante de células progenitoras hematopoyéticas</strong>, dígase también <strong>médula ósea o células madre</strong>. Ésto consiste en reemplazar las pocas células madre que habitan en mi fábrica (médula ósea) por otras células madre sanas. Afortunadamente después de varios estudios que le realizaron a <strong>mi papi</strong>, somos genéticamente compatibles y el <strong>será mi donador</strong>. Él deberá someterse a un tratamiento con un medicamento llamado Filgastrim, que le ayudará a estimular la producción de neutrófilos, soldaditos que se encargan de ayudar al cuerpo a defenderse de infecciones. Mismos soldaditos que mi sistema carece.

<div>Mientras él se somete a este tratamiento, yo estaré recibiendo quimioterapias, ésto ayudará a eliminar por completo el cuartel dónde habitan los pocos soldaditos que tengo, para que al realizar el transplante, pueda darle la bienvenida a mi nueva tropa (células madre sanas).

<div>El tratamiento es muy costoso, pues es un procedimiento muy complicado e implica muchos cuidados, medicamentos caros, la experiencia y sabiduría de los médicos, el uso de una unidad de transplante, etc.

<div>Sabíamos desde un inicio que éste tratamiento nos costaría mucho económicamente hablando, es por eso que mis papás, familia y amigos, hemos estado organizando kerméses, colectas, rifas. Todo para poder hacer posible mi tratamiento.

<div>Gracias a Dios y al apoyo de todos, hemos ido recabando recursos pero aún nos falta mucho para llegar a la meta y poder pagar mi transplante. Es por eso que me acerco a este medio, para darles a conocer mi causa. Si les es posible apoyarme con su donación, será de gran ayuda e importancia para nosotros.

We knew from the beginning that this treatment was very expensive, that is why my parents, family and friends have been organizing fairs, collections. All to make my treatment possible. Thanks to God and to everyone's support, <strong>we have been collecting resources but we still have a long way to go to reach the goal and be able to pay for my transplant</strong>.
