An unprecedented opportunity has opened up for me to host "Junko's Big & Small Radio Show" weekly on three Salem radio stations based in the Seattle area!  But I need your help.  Although they are giving me a great discount to air my show, there is still a lot of costs involved in radio broadcasting.

That's why I am reaching out to you to join my team in benefiting children and families for Christ through my radio shows.

Let me give you a little historical background: several years ago, I was asked by Saddleback Church to produce a series of half-hour radio shows to air on their internet radio station at the time called Purpose Driven Radio.  With the assistance of several friends who just happened to also be radio professionals, I was able to produce eight episodes of fun, family-oriented, kid-friendly shows called "Junko's Big & Small Radio Show" featuring music, jokes, interviews with kids, and even a segment called "Dr. Dave's Medical Minute," all designed to help equip kids and parents live out their lives in Christ.

Before even the first episode was aired, however, Purpose Driven Radio and Saddleback Church changed their course, leaving my completed radio shows sitting on the shelf collecting dust.  I burned some of the episodes onto CDs to let a handful of friends and family listen to the program, and I got great feedback from them.  They all wanted to hear more!

Fast forward a few years, and I found myself getting interviewed on Salem radio during a recent trip to Seattle.  I casually mentioned to the powers-that-be at the station that I happened to have these radio shows in the can, ready to go, and they got very interested.  You see, they had been looking for some family-friendly content for their weekend family block!  Preparation finally met opportunity, and suddenly three of the Salem radio stations in the Seattle area are ready to broadcast "Junko's Big & Small Radio Show"!

The initial plan is to air all eight of the finished shows starting mid-May on KGNW 820 AM, Freedom Talk Radio 1590 AM, and KKOL Business Radio 1300 AM on Saturdays and Sundays.  They will repeat the same eight shows again thereafter with the hopes that listenership will continue to increase with each broadcast.

After 16 weeks, they will start broadcasting some new shows.  Therefore, I will be working on some brand new episodes during the summer to pick up the broadcasting in the fall.

Fortunately, I have these eight shows completed and can start broadcasting immediately and last through the first several months. Nonetheless, there are costs involved in reaching the airwaves, in spite of the fact that Salem is greatly discounting their price to help me out.  There are also costs to be expected in recording and producing new shows.  My hope is that by the time 16 weeks go by, there will be enough awareness built up in the Pacific Northwest area so that local businesses would start advertising on my shows and begin picking up the production and airtime costs.

Until such a time when the shows are self-funded, I need to raise about $10,000 to cover all of the expenses.  I have established a non-profit 501(c)(3) called JuneCo Music Ministry, Inc., which can accept your tax-deductible donations.

Although the shows are initially only going to air in the Seattle/Pacific Northwest area, our hope is that eventually these shows will reach a wider audience with time and, possibly, be syndicated.  To that end, I am reaching out to all of my friends, not just those in the Pacific Northwest, as your support now will enable a bigger future for us all. (But of course, Seattle friends -- I especially need your support!)

Thank you so much for your support and your donation of any amount.  I have set up several incentive levels for larger amounts, including writing a song for you and/or coming out to do a concert for you!  Please check out my GoFundMe page and prayerfully consider donating to my ministry.

Above all, please pray for us as we embark on this new endeavor of reaching kids and grownups for Christ.  Thank you!

Blessings,
Junko
