Help Juniper Fight Parvovirus

After the strong encouragement from our friends, we’ve decided to create a fundraiser for Juniper’s vet bills.
My 7 month old puppy, Juniper, has contracted a bad case of Parvo even after 3 rounds of vaccinations. Parvo is really serious and treatment is $1500/per day. So far, she has been hospitalized for 4 days. I am completely devastated.


Juniper, aka “June Bug” aka “June” aka “Junie” came into our lives 2 months ago. She was a bright, happy ball of sunshine. I had just moved from California to Colorado. I didn’t know anyone. I didn’t know the area. My other 2 dogs, Gracie & Albert, were nervous about their new surroundings. Particularly Gracie - an eccentric border collie with a bad case of nerves.

Although Gracie wasn’t initially fond of her, they became inseparably bonded within a few days. I saw the improvement in both of them. Both gained more self confidence and explored Colorado together! They entered training classes together and played (adorably) every day.



I got June from a family in Pueblo, CO who could not keep her anymore. They handed us the vaccine records and said all she needed was a Rabies shot. She was 5 months old. I took her for the shot a few days later.

The paperwork included 3 stickers for Parvovaccines. I didn’t think anything of the dates. It turns out that the vet who performed these vaccines started them too early and didn’t space them out enough. Our current vets have confirmed that they should’ve started later than 6 weeks and spread them out over 3 weeks instead of 2 in order to create a proper immunity.

It was extremely unlucky that she still got the virus. I keep extra savings around for emergencies but Parvovirus is just too expensive to treat. I had to make the choice to spend the money or let her die... there’s no way I could do it. The hospital offers Care Credit which will help us if we need it. We can’t let her die.
