<div>This comment of casual indifference resonated profoundly with whistleblower <strong>June Bellamy</strong>. However, to speak the truth while in the employ of Samsung has harsh implications – as she discovered through firsthand experience.

<div>Although the South African Constitution allows for freedom of speech, respect, and human dignity, June Bellamy was <strong>denied </strong>these rights while employed at Samsung.

<div>When she blew the whistle on a <strong>director </strong>in the Service Division at the Johannesburg Samsung Head Office in June 2017, she expected Samsung would <strong>protect her</strong> by following its <strong>global whistleblowing policy</strong>. Instead, within <strong>two weeks</strong> of filing her report, <strong>her identity was leaked to the same person she had spoken out against</strong>.

<div>June repeatedly sought internal support from <strong>Samsung auditors, HR staff</strong>, and <strong>HR Directors</strong>. Then, nearly a year later, she begged the African Samsung President for protection. Instead, her appeals were met with <strong>complicit silence</strong> or <strong>threats</strong>.

<div>Instead of being protected, she was <strong>gaslighted, bullied, colluded against, ostracized, mobbed</strong>, and subjected to the other <strong>toxic tactics</strong> routinely employed against whistleblowers.

<div>Samsung Korea even went so far as to instruct the SA auditors to <strong>actively seek</strong> the person behind the <strong>alias emails</strong> they were receiving about the <strong>director she reported against</strong>, which was, in fact, <strong>her</strong>.

<div>Despite June having the foresight to whistleblow across multiple avenues trying to maintain as much anonymity as possible, <strong>all her efforts to secure their 'promised protection' were unsuccessful</strong>.
</div>

<div>In <strong>2018 </strong>June was <strong>dismissed </strong>from Samsung South Africa after <strong>management created</strong> <strong>and delivered</strong> her a <strong>poor performance status</strong>. She has since been <strong>battling </strong>them through a <strong>court of law</strong>.
