Dan's Recovery

Donation protected

On December 10th, Dan was in an accident hauling a load in his semi near Champaign, IL. A victim of circumstance, the semi ended up overturning into a guardrail, which totaled the semi & trailer and left Dan with a lengthy list of injuries. He has 5 fractured ribs, 2 fractured vertebrae, a collapsed lung, lacerated spleen, 20 stitches on his head, and has a chest tube to assist in the recovery process.  Connie will be posting updates periodically via Facebook.

The first responders and doctors have all said that he’s very lucky to be alive, and we’re grateful that he is. He is currently recovering at Carle Foundation Hospital in Champaign, IL near the site of the accident. His hospital recovery is expected to take a week or more, and his recovery at home will last 3+ months. In addition to hospital bills, Dan and Connie will be on a limited income for a few months until Dan is able to recover enough to go back to work. If he continues driving, he’ll also need to eventually replace his semi (self-owned) and a majority of his equipment that was destroyed in the crash.

Dan and Connie aren’t the type to ask for help, but this is a time where they need some help and support so we’re asking for them. Our family is extremely grateful for your support and generosity.

If you can’t contribute financially, they could use some other small items upon their return home (frozen meals, care packages, etc). Please reach out to any of us if you have any questions or need info on how to reach mom & dad.
