Joyful Journey to the Andes

Hello my name is Irene and I am about to embark on a journey of transformation to the Andes. Through many trials and tribulations, I have come to realize that it is time to listen and act on a nudge, a calling and purpose which is to convene with sacred land: the Andes in particular Ausangate Mountain, Macchu Picchu: The Sacred Valley and Temple of the Moon. I am a plant healer, shamanic practitioner and wild human being who stewards the inner terrains of bodies, human and animal with assistance of plants, their wisdom, intentional hands of healing and animistic healing taught by the spirit of Pachamama, the very alive and sentient Mama Earth.  It is not unusual to see me gathering roots, sticks and leaves, smelling the alchemy of botanical perfumes and delicately forging and at times, mightily creating a relationship with the wild and my community. I seek to root down a sound dynamic relationship with my community and bridge them back to their sensate and inspirited selves. This might mean gathering plants and making tea, having a meaningful conversation, building a project together, dancing and making music imperfectly, learning that it is okay to be messy and playful, honoring mystery and to deepen and tap into the well and mountain peaks of our light.

Recently, I committed to deepening my practice. I went through a Medicine Wheel training crafted carefully by teachers here in the Southwest and California with the Q'ero People of the Andes and the WisdomKeepers of their tradition. There I deepened my awareness regarding the ways that Earth-based traditions can heal individuals and communities in profoundly transformative ways. As a young adult, I lived in the Caribbean for a few years connecting with tropical plants, oceanlife and the campesinos (people of the countryside). And from a very young age I knew nature had a lot to teach through our senses, our spirit and theirs and the wild process of birthing new life.

I would like to travel to Peru to deepen and heal my relationship with the spirit of place, animal and plant and be of service to my community.

Funds go towards efforts by teachers, tour guides, indigenous tribes, the plant medicine people and  Pacos of the Andes. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Heartwalk Foundation and an ancient canyon in the Southwest.

Moving forward I dream and commit to bring my experiences back home through sensate creations such as botanical perfumes and other alchemy, bountiful blog writings and photos, presentation, shamanic healing and other creative ways of loving ourselves.
