JULIE’S BEEN JINORMOUSLY JIPPED!

Donation protected

Hi!
I’m Stefanie Harvey and it’s
a little bit of sadness mixed in with a whole lot of hope that I’m doing this GoFundMe campaign for my friend Julie. Jules. She’s a jewel that sparkles to the shine of her own diamond. (Riff on marches to the beat of her own drum-yeah?  no?)

THIS IS OUR STORY
We met in Berkeley when we were both traveling ultrasound techs on assignment at Alta Bates Medical Center. I liked her right away and then quickly found out why-she is a Midwestern girl like me! For those of you not lucky enough to know or experience our polite ways, we are nice to everyone. Complete strangers, enemies, you name it. She took me in when I had my baby because I didn’t have any place to go until my mom came to get me from Wisconsin. We have been helping each other out ever since.

 THIS IS HER STORY
Julie’s first jip came in 2011 when she was diagnosed with stage 3a breast cancer. She had to endure radiation and chemotherapy. She had a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery. She had to have a few surgeries because of complications from the implants. She just recovered from her most recent surgery when, this past August , was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. Adenocarcinoma non-small cell.  She is currently doing chemotherapy every 3 weeks. Another jip! What did she do to deserve this, she asks? NOT A DAMN THING.

WHAT THE DONATING WILL GO TOWARDS
What she deserves is to go through treatment without worrying about finances. Jules needs money for everyday living. She will need money for food, household supplies, gas, parking, and toll money to go to her appointments. Dog walkers for the days she is so tired from chemo that she can’t get out of bed. (Rileigh needs to be well taken care of so she can help her momma the best she can. She got Jules through the first cancer so I know she will do it again.)

WHY DONATING IS NECESSARY
Disability only pays a percentage of what she normally makes. We all have been in a bind with money. If not, your time may be just around the corner. Even if you don’t know Jules, we must help each other in times of need. I’m asking for generosity. We all think we can only give so much, but do you really need that Starbucks every morning? Give just $5.00 more than you think you can spare and you won’t even notice. But if we ALL did that she would certainly notice & be grateful. I need this thing blown out of the water.

HER FIGHT IS OUR FIGHT
Jules didn’t want to do a Go Fund Me because she did it for her first cancer. That’s exactly why we SHOULD donate this time & donate as often & as much as possible. Because nobody deserves to get cancer twice. But here she is, fighting another fight. She is a warrior. She perseveres. When the airline she worked for was going under she put herself through ultrasound school & started a new career. She’s a go getter and will do what it takes. Let’s help her with the latest battle so she can win the war. With our help she can do it with less worry. We all know keeping a positive attitude is key to healing.

** My birthday is TODAY!!! I’m asking, as a gift to me, give to her. Please help my friend who helped me when I would have otherwise been homeless with a newborn. Thank you all.
