Some Background
For many of you who have known me over the years know that I have struggled for the past 18 years with chronic, constant nerve pain that runs down my right leg and affects my right foot. It's a type of neuropathy called radiculopathy. It has affected my sleep and everyday quality of life. With that said, my faith in God pulls me through each day with joyfulness and hope.
I have tried many different treatments over the years from many different types of doctors trying to find the cause of the pain and a treatment plan. Some of these include: endoscopic surgery in the lumbar spine, nerve root and facet blocks, acupuncture, regenerative therapy injections, massage and stretching with PT, and multiple nerve medications to mask the pain. I still cannot sleep or function well daily.

Four years ago I was referred to a doctor that is a world-renown neurosurgeon who places neuro-stimulator devices in patients with chronic long term neuropathies. The electrode is placed directly on the nerve (such as the sciatic nerve in my case) and connected to a battery programmed device that produces a stimulation signal to overlay the pain signals. Unfortunately at that time my insurance saw this surgery as investigational and would not cover the surgery. I walked away at that time and continued searching for treatments that might help.
Eventually I was referred back to this same neurosurgeon and now it seems my insurance IS willing to cover the surgery. There is still a large out of pocket cost for me. I am not one to ask for help but in this case, I was hoping some of you may be able to help with a small donation or just keep me in your prayers! My surgery is scheduled for this month.
