On August 20th, 2017 our mom, Julie was urgently rushed to Sauk Prairie Healthcare after complaints of a migraine that then led to her becoming unresponsive to our dad. A CT scan showed that she had a subaracnoid hemmorage, which was caused by a ruptured aneurysm. She was then transported to UW Hospital where she was admitted immediately to the Neuroscience ICU.
She remains there at this time with no answers as to what her outcome will be. She has undergone multiple surgeries and procedures to save her life and continues to do so, as now she has experienced one common complication, vasospasm.
Anyone who knows mom, knows that she is a fighter and is going to fight this all the way through. Unsure of what her outcome will be is causing extreme stress and uncertainty to the family (Cliff, Stephanie, Melissa and Trisha). It is known she will spend at least 2 to 3 weeks in the ICU, from there she will have to undergo therapy in some way or another. Therapy may be to restore function or to preserve what she still has-we just don't know at this time.
We are unsure of where she will go from the hospital-she may require intense rehab, skilled nursing, or go home with home health-all unknown at this time as well.
What is known, is that the expenses are building up and will continue to do so. Lost wages from both mom and dad (who is there with her almost all of the time) are not helping to pay regular bills, then the additional expenses of mom's care.
Myself (Trisha), and my two sisters, Stephanie and Melissa have set up this page to help our parents with any of the extra medical bills. Donations will go towards mom's medical bills, contributing expenses, and future care. Stephanie Alt/Brickl is added as the beneficiary to help my parents manage the bills coming in so mom can continue to get better. Please keep our mom and family in your thoughts and prayers!
