Julie Wass' fight against cancer

There are times when Dogwood Animal Shelter needs to send out a plea for financial help.  The plea has always been for one of the shelter's pets needing expensive medical treatment that it cannot afford.  Once again, we are hopeful that our compassionate supporters can help. 

The shelter's receptionist and adoption specialist, Julie, battled breast cancer a year ago.  Throughout the ordeal, Julie worked at least part time and did so with an amazing positive attitude.  Several months ago, it was believed that she was finally cancer free, until last week when she was diagnosed with cancer of the liver.  The sickness involved with this form of cancer will prevent her from working for a time.

We are doing everything we can to help her emotionally and financially through this.  However, our funds are very limited.  Being a not-for-profit organization that depends on donations to survive, we often struggle to make ends meet.  Because we cannot financially support Julie to the extent she truly deserves, we are setting up this Go Fund Me page.  It is our hope that you will find it in your hearts to show the same generous compassion for Julie as you have for our pets in dire need.  Please know that any amount you are able to give is very much appreciated.
