As some of you know our dear friend, our active community member and local business owner Julie Rock has been diagnosed with breast cancer.
One of Milton community's biggest supporter, our "Rock" needs our help now. We want to support and take care of her the way she has taken care of so many of us. If you know Julie you know she is very humble and not one to reach out and ask for help, that's why we are here.
On Wednesday, April 8th, 2020 Julie will be undergoing surgery followed by radiation and then possibly chemo. It will be a long and tiring road to recovery for her and her family and the last thing we want her to be concerned with is money.
Julie has a family of 5 children, 4 of whom are living at home and need her emotionally now more than ever. Julie is the co-owner of The Studio, a small but successful photography studio in Milton which has already been affected by the quarantine we are all facing, and now she is forced to reschedule work even further back so she can focus on her health and recovery. Her husband Tyler will be juggling work and caring for her and their young families needs which likely means a lot of unpaid time off work moving forward.
We know that everyone's finances are especially tight at this time, but if you are able to offer financial support to help make up for any wage losses it will go to a good cause and The Rock Family will be forever grateful.
There will also be a meal train set up to help out with meals. Due to the Covid 19 crisis we thought it best that it be limited to food orders prepared by local restaurants that are still offering pick up or delivery options. Not only will this support Julie and her family, but it will also support our local small businesses in this difficult time.
If you are not in a position to offer financial assistance, maybe you can offer emotional support via text, FB or Instagram. Words of encouragement will help fuel her strength and determination to kick cancer's ass and get back to being the "Rock" star that we all know and love.
