Julie Hartman Lingard truly believed in the power of paying it forward. Her wish was to put a smile on someone’s face by showing them unexpected kindness. Together, we can help keep Julie’s memory and wish alive. A scholarship fund in Julie’s name has been set up to benefit the St. Louis Learning Disabilities Association (LDA).
This picture shows Julie with her nephew Ryan, whom she adored. Ryan recently graduated high school and is heading to college. He reached this milestone with the help of LDA. The organization provided him tutoring and self-advocacy training; Ryan credits much his academic success to these sessions.
LDA currently has a program offering both tutoring and self-advocacy classes to children from economically-challenged backgrounds. Julie’s scholarship will help fund this program. Education is the key to long-term success for children, so what better way to pay it forward. Please join us in honoring the memory of Julie by donating to her scholarship.
