Julia & James Shealy Worship Album!

Hi! My name is Julia Shealy. I am a Creative living in Atlanta, working full-time in ministry and as a writer/musician with my husband, James Shealy.
What was once 'my' EP is now a collaboration between me and James! Woohoo!
We are asking for you to partner with us as we embark on the journey into our first project as a team - an 8 track album. It has been a long time coming.
I hope you will now enjoy the backstory to the questions "why now?", "why a worship album?", "why do you need this money?"
Growing up, I was always asked, "when are you going to do your own music?!" I would reply, "when/if I feel led/called." When I got married to a full time musician, aka James Shealy, I always felt my main calling was supporting him in his dreams; and I still fully believe it is! However, God has had something special in mind for me as a writer, and us as musical duo! 

As we have been growing as worship leaders/pastors alongside one another at our church, River City, the thought of writing our own worship music became closer to the forefront of our minds and hearts with each passing week. Recently, especially, amidst the increasing amounts of tragedies occuring worldwide, the insecurity, addiction, racism, depression and anxiety weighing down this nation, I have felt God stirring in me the strongest desire to write a 'new song'. He's revealed to me the need for songs with lyrics about what it takes and what it looks like to be completely present with God amongst the chaos in this country/world; to live in the fullness of our true identity in Christ.
James was recently called and drawn by the Lord to write his own worship songs while we continued to write and produce mine together. One day, he showed me a song the Lord put on his heart that was written while he was deep in God's presence playing piano at home. In my life, I had never encountered the kind of peace I felt as it played, or the amount of love and pride I felt towards James. While creating the full song list for the EP a day later, we looked at each other and I asked, "can we make this OUR album?" Since then, we have pressed on together towards the goal God had in mind all along. 

Since James and Julia first picked up a pen and pad and sat down at the piano just for the Lord, a hidden vault has been opened that we never want to be closed again. I recently transitioned from my "9-5" as an Occupational Therapist Assistant to be able to devote my days to worship and ministry full time. We have put the entirety of our faith for the future of this music in Jesus. 

We hope that through your support, we can use our gifts to create an EP that will open up an opportunity for God's Spirit to shift your focus and perspective, bringing you courage, comfort and healing as the songs so far have given us.

I have never felt so much freedom, excitement and joy about creating and I cannot wait to share what has been pouring out of me. We are humbly asking for you to take a moment to think about and pray into how you can support this project! EVERY dollar counts. I'm trusting God will see you through for your faith in me!
