Julian’s Life
Julian is the type of kid that puts others first. He is heart warming, loves his little brothers, and his Mom is everything to him.
We recently noticed a sudden change in him that was thought to be puberty. But putting on 11 pounds in a week. It is not from overeating or sneaking snacks. We took him to his doctor who sent us to an immunologist and then an endocrinologist. When hisresults came back we were devastated. Julianhas adrenal Cushings. His quick and sudden weight gain took him from 90 pounds to 138 in just 5 months. He has to undergo a brain surgery to remove a tumor from his pituitary gland, and the doctor that performs this is in Maryland, at the National Institute of Health. We live in South Carolina and our insurance won’t pay for the out of state procedure. His endocrinologist here does not recommend any medications at this time to help with symptoms. She has advised that he needs to go straight to surgery. We are asking for help!! I am a stubborn man who doesn’t like to ask for help, but this is an immediate need. I am a Veteran without benefits and we are a family of seven. Right now could not be a worse time with everything going on. Please help Julian. Thank you for anything you can do.
