Julian’s Head Operation Fund
My nephew Julian was born with a cranial deformity called “craniosynostosis” that is a condition when kids are born with a premature cranial structure form or premature skull, changing the growth pattern of the skull.
He needs a specialized operation before the seven months, that will help shape the cranial skull of the infant. This operation has a cost that surpasses $25,000 and the family is trying to raise the money to help Julian enjoy a closer to normal life. The operations will take place in San Antonio, Texas with a specialized doctor that has evaluated Julian’s case.
We also need prayers for Julian’s family and support. The cost of the operation is a hard burden for the family that has gone through this once before with Julian’s sister Sophie who is now 10 years old but took a long time to adapt to normal life after 3 different surgeries.
When Julian goes through the procedure as an infant he will have a faster recuperation than his sister and hopefully less surgeries in his lifetime.
Julian needs to have the operation by September 1st which is already scheduled but they are hoping the community at large can help them raise the operation cost, to put a smile in Julian’s life.
A Less Invasive Technique for Babies with Craniosynostosis
The basic and fundamental principle with our Craniosynostosis treatment, is to operate on the baby with Craniosynostosis as early as possible. Best results are obtained when the infant receives the procedure by 12 weeks of age. However, successful skull reshaping can be achieved for older babies, with appropriate postoperative cranial helmet therapy.
