This GoFundMe account is for Julia. She is a beautiful 5th-grade girl who has cerebral palsy and is in a wheelchair. Julia is growing up into a beautiful young lady but as she is getting bigger, it is very difficult and at times impossible for her mom to carry her upstairs or to lift her out of the bathtub. They live in a split-level house and need to make the house accessible for Julia. The cost of the renovation is $47,000...an expense they cannot afford with all of the costs associated with Julia's care.
These renovations are so very important because they will give Julia the independence that she has been lacking. Julia has been working hard on driving her power chair...but is unable to practice at home. She needs to practice in the home in a functional way if she is to ever master driving.
I have known Julia's mom her whole life as our mothers were best friends when they were younger. Julia's parents are some of the greatest, loving and amazing people I know. They love their kids and do everything physically possible to give their children a good life. Julia's dad works 70 hours a week to pay for the extensive medical costs. Her mom spends every waking hour taking care of them.
The Heintz family is working diligently on finding private funding. They do not qualify for government funding because they are above poverty level. Julia does not receive SSI nor is she on Medicaid. They also have a five-year-old son with autism, which is also very costly.
This GoFundMe page was set up because of the heartfelt act of Julia’s best friend, Hannah. Hannah's mother posted on Facebook that Hannah has decided to dedicate her summer vacation to raise money for Julia’s family so they can make the necessary renovations to their home. Hannah has asked everyone to give her odd jobs…dog walking, cleaning litter boxes, household chores… anything so she can raise money.
My prayer is for others to follow 10-year-old, Hannah. Show her how compassionate we can be. She is willing to give up her whole summer vacation to earn money to help Julia. Can you donate even a small amount, the price of a Starbuck coffee, to make a difference for this family? The Heintz family is amazing and is in need of your generosity.
Thank you for considering this request and God bless you and Julia's family.
