Julia's NZ Training/Mission Trip

Before just about a year and a half ago I called myself a Christian, but I looked at it as a religion  rather than a relationship. In early 2016 I realized that I could have a personal relationship with the God of the universe and was never the same. I had been in the world and looking for what it had to offer, but when I realized whose I was and that God had another plan for me, I rededicated my life to Christ.  Since then I have accepted the call to ministry, found an amazing home church, a new identity found in Christ, and a personal relationship with the King of kings that is growing deeper and deeper every single day. I stand in awe of who God is. None of us are deserving of Him, His grace, or the love that He gives us. But it is freely given through Jesus Christ, who died for you and I. All I can do is spend my entire life trying to repay him for all he has done for me. 
             
        I believe that God is calling me to share the good news about Jesus Christ to anyone and everyone. To better equip me for this calling I felt led to apply to the Youth with a Mission Discipleship Training School, feeling this would better prepare me to follow my call. I am so excited to announce that I will be leaving for Tauranga, New Zealand on July 23rd of 2018, where I will live on the YWAM base. I will be attending daily classes, studies, and participating in local outreach for 3 months where my days will begin at around 5:45 AM, and end at 10:00 PM. In those three months, I will read the Bible through either cover to cover or chronologically, in conjunction with lectures and training complementing the text.  This DTS will require a commitment to reading the Bible for at least an hour every morning, and learning a scripture by heart each week. Once those 3 months are completed, my DTS group will be traveling to third world countries (such as Fiji, which was last years mission, Phillipines, or Thailand, to-be-determined), where we will be volunteering on the mission field for 2 months.
        
        I'm asking you to join me in this mission, first with your prayers, and also with financial support. I have estimated that the total cost of my trip will be $12,000.  This will include Tuition (which includes room and board for all 5 months) of $7,100, roundtrip air fare of $2,900, and miscellaneous expenses of$1,000.  Since I just graduated from High School six months early in December, I plan to work from January through June to earn $4,000 of this total cost.  I have received a committment for a job from a Christian family who owns a restaurant in Morehead City, NC.  So my goal is to raise $8,000 through GoFundMe.
