Help Keep Craft Alive at Wesleyan Potters

Tax deductible
Wesleyan Potters, Inc. is a non-profit school and cooperative guild founded in 1948 to promote the learning and development of skills in crafts. Not just a pottery studio, Wesleyan Potters offers classes for adults and children in three different media: weaving, metalsmithing, and ceramics.

Why Now?

2020 has been a difficult year for Wesleyan Potters. Due to the pandemic, we shut down the studio and canceled our Spring and Summer courses and workshops. We were able to reopen for Fall classes, but with a significantly reduced number of students and sessions.
Our students and members see our studio as more than just a facility to make their work. It is a place to connect with friends, to be inspired, and to push past their limits. It is a refuge from the difficulties of everyday life, filled with people who share a love for craft. What was so painful about the shutdown was taking away so many people’s outlet for stress and source of human connection at the very moment they needed it most.

What’s Next?

Our small staff has worked exceptionally hard to create and implement new safety guidelines, find creative solutions for online learning, and pivot to online selling to support our local artisans and provide safe shopping alternatives.
Despite the efforts and commitment of the staff and Key Members, we desperately need additional funding to supplement the reduced income from classes and sales in order to meet our monthly running costs, until we can get back to normal operations.
With organizations across the country struggling to survive the pandemic, there is considerable competition for grant funding. Any donation you can spare (no matter how small!) will be significant for Wesleyan Potters as we work to stay open and provide a safe studio for our members and students.

THANK YOU!! We are so grateful to our community and cyber community for the continued support for the studio that we love so much. To help get the word out, please share this link to your Facebook timeline.
