Julia’s Renal Failure

Julia is an average teenager that loves her family, friends and animals! Unfortunately about ten years ago when she was only about 4/5 years old she started having some medical complications only to find out she was going through the beginning stages of kidney failure. The first doctors said she needed a transplant, but after many visits to different doctors appointments and admitted into different hospitals they came to find out that julias kidneys weren’t the problem, it was her bladder. Because her bladder can’t properly function it is backing up into her kidneys causing them damage. One kidney has already failed completely and her other is only working at a low percentage. Right now, at 15 years old (and for the last ten years,) julia has to catheterize herself every day for the rest of her life. And soon looking at being put on a dialysis machine.

Never in a million years could we imagine starting a gofundme page, as were a pretty private family with my sisters medical conditions. However all of the visits back and forth to her doctor in Manhattan and missing so much work to stay in the hospital for days at a time has really took its toll on my parents. Between medications, transportation, co-pays and medical supplies, it has become too much weight on my families shoulders. Any helping hands during this difficult time would be greatly appreciated! Being able to focus on Julia’s medical needs with out having to worry so much about the financial struggle is beyond appreciated!
