<div>We are reaching out to you with a heartfelt request for support for our friends, Julia and Daniel. On Thursday, while visiting the Philippines, they were involved in a very serious accident. They miraculously survived and are currently in hospital in Puerto Princesa on Palawan Island.
</div>
<div>Daniel has internal organ injuries and is facing a major surgery to receive a hip implant. Julia also needs surgery- she has a complicated arm fracture and will require an implant in her wrist. She has also suffered facial and jaw injuries.

<div>Both of them have a long and difficult rehabilitation ahead. They won’t be able to return to work any time soon. In a single moment, their reality changed by 180 degrees. The trip of a lifetime turned into a traumatic experience.
</div>
<div>However, we know they won’t give up- they are strong and kind people who have always been the first to help others in need.
</div>

<div>For as long as I can remember, Daniel has supported various charities, helped children and orphanages, organized help for people in need. He was always active in our community, bringing together the Polish diaspora in both the UK and in Poland, in his hometown of Gryfino.
</div>
<div>When the war on Poland's East border broke out, Daniel was the first person in our local expatriate community to start organizing aid- and he even personally delivered supplies there. He never hesitated. “We can do this- if not us, then who?” he used to say.

<div>Today, it is Daniel and his partner who need our help. Now it’s our turn to support Julia and Daniel. They are facing a difficult time in hospital, far from home and loved ones. And once they return to the UK, challenges will continue- they’ll have to rebuild their lives and focus on long-term rehabilitation, which requires significant financial resources.

<div>Zwracamy się do Was z ogromną prośbą o wsparcie dla naszych przyjaciół, Julii i Daniela. W czwartek, podczas pobytu na Filipinach, mieli bardzo ciężki wypadek. Cudem przeżyli - obecnie przebywają w szpitalu w Puerto Princesa na Palawanie.

<div>Daniel ma obrażenia narządów wewnętrznych i czeka go poważna operacja wszczepienia implantu biodrowego. Julię również czeka operacja - ma skomplikowane złamanie ręki i będzie potrzebowała implantu w nadgarstku. Doznała też obrażeń twarzy i szczęki.

<div>Oboje czeka długa i trudna rehabilitacja. Nie będą mogli szybko wrócić do pracy. W jednej chwili ich rzeczywistość zmieniła się o 180 stopni. Wyjazd życia stał się traumatycznym przeżyciem. Wiem jednak, że się nie poddadzą, bo to silni i kochani ludzie, którzy zawsze pierwsi nieśli pomoc innym, gdy tylko była potrzeba.

<div>Daniel, odkąd pamiętam, wspierał różne organizacje charytatywne, pomagał dzieciom i domom dziecka, organizował zbiórki i zwyczajnie pomagal ludziom potrzebującym. Zawsze był obecny w naszej społeczności, jednocząc Polonię w Wielkiej Brytanii i w Polsce, w swoim rodzinnym Gryfinie.

<div>Gdy wybuchła wojna za wschodnią granicą Polski, to on jako pierwszy w naszej emigracyjnej społeczności rozpoczął organizację pomocy - a nawet sam pojechał tam z transportem potrzebnych rzeczy. Nigdy się nie wahał. „Damy radę, kto jak nie my” - mawiał.

<div>Dziś to on i jego partnerka potrzebują naszego wsparcia. Dziś to my mamy szansę pomóc im - Julii i Danielowi. Przed nimi trudny czas w szpitalu, daleko od domu i bliskich. Po powrocie do UK czekają ich kolejne niełatwe chwile - będą musieli przeorganizować swoje życie i skupić się na długiej rehabilitacji, która wiąże się z dużymi kosztami.
