This campaign has been organised by Gymnastics Queensland to support Ashley Druve and his family.
Ashley Druve is a devoted and caring family man with 3 young children and wife. The head of Gymnastics at Brisbane Boys' College, Ashley can only be described as passionate. Having been in the sport of Gymnastics for over 3 decades, Ashley has been highly involved with creating and shaping Gymnastics in Queensland. He has made such a difference in the lives of the many athletes he has coached and mentored. Ashley is also an experienced coaches course presenter and has traveled to many areas of Australia educating the next generation of Gymnastics coaches.
Last week Ashley was admitted to Wesley Hospital for tests, but came out finding he now has Advanced Cancer. After 6 hours of surgery and the removal of as much cancer as possible, he is resting up at home. Ashley is looking forward to spending Christmas with his family. In early 2016, once recovered from his surgery, the plan is for treatment to slow down the cancer that remains.
Being a humble man, Ashley would never ask for help but the Gymnastics Community want to stand by him and his young family to help in any way possible. Ashley has been overwhelmed with the support his family, work colleagues, friends and gymnasts of the support that has been flying in.
