Help us get our Charity Shop back
Following an appeal in the Bradford Telegraph & Argos, Jubilee Outreach Yorkshire (JOY) (Charity number 1144323) is in need of your support to make building repairs and help vulnerable people in Yemen and Romania.
Last week a member of staff visited our Shipley shop to find thousands of pounds worth of books and clothes drenched in water following a water leak. It was so bad that the electricity has completely cut out and we will need to make urgent repairs, fix the carpet and replenish stock.
We do not know yet whether our insurer will cover any of the costs.
Jubilee Outreach Yorkshire is an Ecumenical Christian Charity which is voluntarily run by a small dedicated staff in our office and warehouse in Windhill, Shipley. We have been working since 1990 to provide aid and funds to 3rd world situations.
The majority of our work and commitment is to Romania, where we have several ongoing projects and a commitment to helping many sick and needy people. This includes paying for nurses who help care for the most vulnerable people, fund supplies for a day care centre. We also send prosthetic limbs for those injured in war in Yemen. Additionally we give funds and supplies to other groups and work with many other charities in the same field.
We have two charity shops, one in Bingley as well as the one in Shipley, run by committed volunteers who help us not only by selling goods but also receiving donations. These charity shops provide us with almost 3/4 of our income. The rest of our funds comes as donations from Churches, individuals and businesses
Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to us.
