Hello family and friends,
As you may know our brother Juan Montanez passed away on Nov 7th, and is now with the Lord. Juan was exposed to Covid -19 and had some underlying conditions that made the virus that much harder to beat. He admitted himself to the VA hospital here in Dallas, TX in hopes for a quick visit, but resulted in the place where he took his final breath. If you knew him you also know that he was a Marine veteran (served 2 tours), and very active in the Los Angeles area community. He was very passionate about helping those in need and loved spending his time in some of the programs named below:
South East Young Athletics - Bell, CA South East Youth Wrestling - Bell, CA Benjamin Franklin High School - Los Angeles, CA Bell Chamber of Commerce - Bell, CA Maywood Lions Club - Maywood, CA TR3 City Youth Football & Cheer Athletic Assoc. - Maywood , CA
These just a few of many. His passion and love for the community is what kept him in the area. The decision he made to move to Texas was one of the hardest decisions he ever made, but it allowed us to grow closer as a family. Our brother made it very clear in many conversations that his final wish (when the time came), was to be laid to rest in California close to our mother Teresa and his father Jose. This GOFUNDME has been created in hopes that we can come together, and raise the funds needed to get his remains back to California and have funeral services near our hometown. Below are just a few of the expenses we are asking for assistance with:
Domestic Flight and body preparations including licensing - $10,000 Funeral Home Services and Casket - $10,000 We understand that times are tough but we truly appreciate anything you can assist with. Thank for your support and please continue to pray for our family.

Como sabrán, nuestro hermano Juan Montanez falleció el 7 de Noviembre y ahora ya está con el Señor. Juan estuvo expuesto a Covid -19 y tenía algunas condiciones medicas previas que hizo que el virus fuera mucho más difícil de vencer. El visitó el hospital para ex-militares aquí en Dallas, TX con la esperanza de que fuera una visita rápida, pero resultó ser el lugar donde tomó su último aliento. Si lo conocías también sabras que era un veterano de la Marina de guerra de Los Estados Unidos , y muy activo en la comunidad del área de Los Angeles. Era muy apasionado para ayudar a los necesitados y pasaba gran cantidad de su tiempo sirviendo en muchos lugares a jóvenes de la comunidad, a continuación una lista pequeña de las muchas instituciones que él ayudó.

La decisión que tomó para mudarse a Texas fue una de las decisiones más difíciles que tomó, pero nos permitió acercarnos más como familia. Nuestro hermano dejó muy claro en muchas conversaciones que su último deseo (que tristemente ya sucedió), era ser puesto a descansar en California cerca de nuestra madre Teresa y su padre José. Este GOFUNDME ha sido creado con la esperanza de que podamos juntos recaudar los fondos necesarios, para que sus restos regresen a California, y tener el servicio funerario cerca de nuestra ciudad natal.
