My father's Cancer Journey

On behalf of my mother, Helen Cruz, I am creating this gofundme page to help out the number one man in our lives, my father Juan Santiago. He is a loving and supportive father, the best husband, and a dedicated manager for Staples in our area. One day he was shaving his face when he noticed a lump on his neck and simply thought it was an ingrown hair. The lump continuously grew so he went to the doctor and since that day our lives have been altered forever.
         In early June there was word that the lump on his neck was cancer. He's been to so many appointments and through so many machines since then. And just about 2 weeks ago our nightmares came true. It was in fact cancer. Almost the very next day he had emergency surgery to remove his tonsils to see where the cancer is and where it has spread to. Now, fast forwarding to present day, we now know it is stage 4 oropharyngeal cancer. My heart broke once I heard those words and as I am currently typing them out.  Tomorrow, my father sadly starts radiation and chemotherapy treatment and the bills have already amounted well past 5,000$.  Your donations will help my father get through these rough 7 weeks with some sort of peace of  mind. 


          I also wanted to share my dads story to remind everyone if something on your body feels or looks off do not ignore it. Something as simple as a lump somewhere can change your life forever. Thank you for your time.
