Juan Guzmans Bone Marrow Transplant

Juan Guzmán was diagnosed with myelodisplastic syndrome at the age of 3 in Mexico. He was born in Oakland California but at the age of 3 his parents were deported and him and his family moved to mexico. Up until he was 15 he had only been treated with blood and platelet transfusion. I Lorena Sanchez met his family about 3 years ago in Mexico and offered to bring him to the U.S  to recieve medical treatment. I am Juan's aunt but never had much contact with his family until now. A year ago Juan agreed to come to the U.S specifically to Davis California leaving his family behind in Mexico and receive treatment. Once he was in the U.S he was diagnosed with a different medical condition named aplastic anemia. His treatment has consisted of chemotherapy for about a year. Two months ago Juan was referred to the UCSF hospital for a bone marrow transplant. A perfect match was found and he will be receiving his transplant on September 22nd 2017. His mom is in Mexico and is unable to come we are currently trying to get a visa for her but she has already been denied twice, we are trying a third time but there isn't much hope. My daughter Samantha will be in the hospital with him for a minimum of three months. I will be going as much as I can. I have a job that I can not leave therefore I will not be able to be with Juan full time. There will be many costs that come along with staying in San Francisco, as well as paying someone else to stay with Juan to at least have a minimum of two caregivers with him in the hospital. By raising this money it will help us cover all the expenses that we will have while we are in San Francisco. Expenses such as food, housing, gas, caregivers and other things that may come up. Since Juan is still a minor I will administer the money raised for him but he will have access to it if he were to need anything. We appreciate all the help. Thank you.
