We unexpectedly lost an amazing and loving husband and father Thursday, February 22nd. Just 77 years old, he left us too soon. Juan De La Cruz had a passion for neon and all who knew him knew his amazing talent and love for his work. His work can be seen throughout Tucson and California and in movies such as "Can't Buy Me Love", "The Wrath", "Tin Cup" and a few others.
He leaves behind a great legacy, with his most recent projects at the soon to open American Eats Co. There you will find an amazing array of art, among them his beautiful neon creations for restaurants such as Avenues, Upper Crust Pizza, Cafe Con Leche, Market Bar and The Bite. Only two of the projects remained unfinished.
Juan Diaz De La Cruz is survived by his wife Mary Helen Soto De La Cruz, 6 children, 18 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.
He did not have final arrangements in place and as a family we are coming together to raise what we can, however, your donations, love and support are greatly appreciated.
